The NEW YORK TIMES would editorialize, "We're glad he's dead!"

It's Sunday afternoon here in the mountains of Pennsylvania, and I just completed the painful part of my weekend, perusing the most insidiously evil journal since Pravda. Forget the fawning over the nation's savior (I refuse to mention his name), the TIMES had two scathing editorials regarding the Bush administration.

I weigh through the pain of the news and opinion sections, so I can read Entertainment and Travel as rewards after a painful workout, and have my mind stimulated by the Book Review. I live in a place where we have what some would consider the ill fortune to have the Sunday TIMES available. I read it so I can keep track of what the "enemy" is thinking.

I can do this because I have the GOOD fortune of having my "newspaper of record," the TRIBUNE-REVIEW of Greensbug available (I know, some call it the Pittsburgh TRIBUNE-REVIEW, but its roots are in Westmoreland County, just to the west of my home). But my beloved paper disappointments me. As I turn to their "Opinion" section for some strength and some reality, they have a page of "Liberal Commentary" in every issue. I must write the editor and alert him to my displeasure. If I wanted to read that dreck, I could get the Pravda wannabe from Pittsburgh. As it is I suffer enough with it from the TIMES.

But as painful as it is, I will always steel myself every Sunday and get my work out, for in doing so, I become stronger in my convictions.
